Merry Christmas everyone! My neice, Kaitlin, got a Wii for Christmas this year. What a fun game! I think it's the BEST video game ever. Gets us all up and moving. I've discovered that I LOVE bowling! We play against each other every night for hours and have so much fun. I'm also pretty good at tennis. Who knew!?!?! Golf, not so much.... and baseball - I can't even hit the ball! But it's just such a great way to laugh and spend time with my family.
Anyway, hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday! YEA for two weeks vacation time from work! See you all next year! (Hard to believe, huh, 2009!?!)

Are you ready for some football!
OK, so my friend, Gail, decided to have a few co-workers over for some Sunday football. She has a honking huge tv, see...
There were so many games playing at one time, who could keep up? OK, well, maybe Dan, Cheryl, Matt, Gail, and Robin could, but me.....nope. But...the food was excellent! Everyone brought something to share. Num Yummy! :)

Family Bonding
Today, my children and I met their father (Thom), his wife (Veronica) & daugher (Aislinn) at Watkins Glen for a hike. It was such a beautifu
l day! We started the day out in Corning for breakfast. Then, up the million stairs along the Glen. It wasn't too crowded and the weather was perfect. We all had a really good time, with lots of laughter! Here's a few pics.....

metamorphosis of a critter
OK, so we're sitting on the deck Wednesday afternoon (yeah, I know, the dates on the camera were WRONGO!)
and this bug crawled out of the ground and across the grass. So, being the
curious bunch that we are, I grabbed a stick, had it crawl up it, and placed it on the deck so we could examine it a little closer. It was weird! The shell was hard, and he had claws! We then put him in a planter so we could watch and see what he did. As the day goes on, we notice that he's shedding his skin. As he came out of the original skin, the thing grew and grew! He was 3 times his original size (nice, I'm assuming it's a he!). And...he grew wings. Wing span of oh, let's say 8" (really, about 1" but he looked huge!) He hung around until Thursday morning, when we last observed him. Sometime during the day, he flew away. Hmmmm....wonder where he went! We were hoping not inside the cottage, as we kept the doors wide open for the dogs. It would be a shame to have to kill him (which would definitely happen if he went inside!) after watching him evolve! **Thanks to Jack "the bug man" Ball, the bug has been identified as a cicada!**

Naming a blog....
...is harder than I thought. So, I asked my wonderful coworkers to help me. With titles like "Streaming with Sue," "The UNfowench," and "Catablog," the choices were unique & funny and finally I picked two! Thanks Matt, Sue & Gail! However, I am hoping that should people stumble upon my blog they don't think I'm really into knives or anything like that!!
It all began when I informed my coworkers at a round table meeting (also known as the lunch table) that I kept a big butcher knife beside my bed. Well, I lived alone. My dogs are small. Doesn't a person deserve to sleep in peace? hehehe I'll never live that down! Hence the title of this blog. Love it!
